Recognition Best Practices

Short answers to "How do I recognize people the right way?"

Be specific.

"Great job" lands. "You stayed late to fix the squat rack so the 6am crew had a clean floor" sticks forever.

Recognize fast.

Aim for within 24 hours of the moment. The closer to the win, the bigger the impact.

Tie it to values.

Connect the recognition to a specific EōS value — Member Experience, Team, Growth, Culture, or Performance.

Make it public.

Use the Recognition Wall. Public praise lifts the recipient AND the whole team.

Spread the love.

Aim to recognize every team member at least once a month. Track participation, not just volume.

Match the tier.

Save Above & Beyond for true heroics. Reserving the big rewards keeps them meaningful.

Team Player moment

[Name], jumping in on [shift/situation] without being asked is leadership. Real talk — the team is stronger because of how you show up.

Growth Mindset moment

[Name], finishing [certification/training] on top of your shifts takes real discipline. Already seeing it pay off on the floor.
